How do I find a painter in my city? +
Go to our All Cities page and click your city. You'll see a list of local painting contractors — browse their profiles, check descriptions and ratings, then contact whoever looks like the right fit directly by phone or website.
Is it free to use Painters.city as a homeowner? +
Yes, completely free. No account required, no subscription, no fees of any kind. Browse as many cities and listings as you want, and contact painters directly at no cost.
Do I need to create an account to contact a painter? +
No account needed. Every listing shows the painter's phone number and website link. You click or call directly — there's no signup, no form, and no waiting for a callback from our platform.
What types of painters are listed? +
The directory includes contractors for interior painting, exterior painting, commercial painting, cabinet refinishing, deck and fence staining, epoxy floor coatings, and more. Use the category filters on each city page to narrow down by service type.
Are the listed painters verified? +
Every listing is reviewed before going live — we require real business information including address and contact details. We're an advertising directory, not a licensing body, so we recommend verifying credentials, insurance, and references directly with any contractor before hiring them.
What if I have a bad experience with a listed painter? +
Painters.city is an advertising directory and not responsible for the services provided by listed businesses. If you encounter a problem, we recommend resolving it directly with the contractor. You can also contact us to report inaccurate or misleading listing information and we'll review it.

How do I add my painting business to the directory? +
Click Add Your Business in the navigation and fill out the short form. Include your business name, city, services, phone number, and website. We'll review your submission and notify you once it's live — usually within 1–2 business days.
How much does it cost to list my business? +
A standard listing is free. We also offer paid premium listings that give your business featured placement at the top of your city page with a highlighted card. See our pricing page for current rates.
Do you charge commission on jobs I get through the directory? +
Never. Customers contact you directly using your phone number or website. We have no visibility into what happens after that, and we take no commission on any work you do. Your listing fee (if any) is the only cost.
Can I be listed in more than one city? +
Yes. If you serve multiple cities, submit a listing for each one using the Add Business form, or contact us and we can handle multi-city setups for you. Premium multi-city packages are also available.
How do I update or remove my listing? +
To update your listing information (phone number, website, description, etc.) or to remove it entirely, contact us with your business name and city and we'll make the changes promptly.
What is a Premium listing and is it worth it? +
Premium listings appear at the top of the city page in a highlighted cobalt card — before all standard listings. For competitive cities with many painters listed, premium placement significantly increases how often your business is seen and clicked. View our advertising page for details.

Painters.city is a free online directory of painting contractors across the United States. It's designed to help homeowners find local painters quickly and directly — without middlemen, lead forms, or subscription fees. Painting businesses can list themselves to get found by local customers.
How many cities and painters are listed? +
The directory covers hundreds of cities across all 50 US states, with thousands of painting contractor listings. We're growing regularly as new businesses submit listings and we add new cities. Check our All Cities page to see what's currently available.
Does Painters.city actually provide painting services? +
No. Painters.city is strictly an advertising directory. We list painting businesses — we do not provide, book, manage, or guarantee any painting services. All work is contracted directly between homeowners and the painting businesses listed.
How do I contact Painters.city support? +
Use our Contact page for all inquiries — whether you need help with a listing, have a question not answered here, or want to report an issue. We aim to respond within one business day.
